Levator ani asymmetry and deviation in high-type anorectal malformation evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging

MRI study of 39 patients reveals significant levator ani asymmetry and deviation in high-type anorectal malformations compared to low-type cases and controls. Findings suggest surgeons should carefully consider pelvic floor anatomy when planning posterior sagittal anorectoplasty to optimize outcomes.
