CT findings predicting lung resection in children with complicated community-acquired pneumonia

Retrospective study of 84 pediatric patients identifies CT features that predict need for lung resection in complicated pneumonia. Multiple cavities ≥3cm combined with lung abscess are the strongest predictors, with 80% of resection patients showing two or more high-risk features on initial imaging.
