The effects of Kasai procedure on living donor liver transplantation for children with biliary atresia

Retrospective study of 150 children with biliary atresia comparing outcomes between those who underwent prior Kasai procedure versus direct liver transplantation. Results showed no significant difference in survival rates or surgical complications, supporting Kasai as first-line treatment to delay transplantation need.
