Diagnosis of liver cirrhosis with two-dimensional shear wave elastography in biliary atresia before Kasai portoenterostomy

Study validates 2D shear wave elastography as a non-invasive tool for diagnosing liver cirrhosis in biliary atresia patients before Kasai surgery. Analysis of 51 pediatric cases identified 16.05 kPa as the optimal cutoff value, achieving 82.4% diagnostic accuracy with high negative predictive value (94.7%).
