Differential expression of miRNA in histological subtype of Wilms tumor

Study of 15 Wilms tumor cases identified a panel of 5 microRNAs that can distinguish histological subtypes through expression profiling, potentially enabling non-invasive diagnosis in pediatric patients. The research found that tumor characteristics like necrosis and heterologous differentiation create distinct miRNA expression patterns detectable by microarray analysis.
