Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and its Complications in Newborns with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia

Retrospective study of 54 CDH neonates on ECMO found 61% survival, with complications occurring in 70% of patients. Mechanical and renal complications were independently associated with mortality, while survivors had higher birth weights and fewer total complications, suggesting targeted fluid management and circuit optimization may improve outcomes.
