Long-term follow-up of tracheal cartilage growth promotion by intratracheal injection of basic fibroblast growth factor

Experimental study in rabbits demonstrates sustained tracheal cartilage growth 12 weeks after single intratracheal b-FGF injection, with dose-dependent increases in luminal area, glycosaminoglycan, and type II collagen. Findings suggest potential therapeutic application for congenital or acquired tracheal stenosis through minimally invasive endoscopic delivery.
