A comparison of surgical site infections in children after stoma reversal between purse-string and linear closure

Comparative study of 76 pediatric stoma reversal cases demonstrates purse-string closure technique significantly reduces surgical site infections compared to linear closure (9.7% vs 31.1%, p=0.028) with no difference in hospital stay duration. Multivariate analysis confirms purse-string method as independent protective factor against SSI in children.
