Impact of Short Bowel Syndrome on Quality of Life and Family: The Patient's Perspective

Study using PedsQL questionnaires demonstrates that short bowel syndrome significantly impairs quality of life in pediatric patients and their families across physical, emotional, and social domains. Families of older children reported worse healthcare satisfaction, particularly regarding communication and information sharing. Findings emphasize need for enhanced psychosocial support alongside medical management of SBS.
