Intraoperative Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy (IENB) to Localize Peripheral Lung Lesions: A New Technique in the Pediatric Oncology Population

First reported use of intraoperative electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (IENB) with dye tattooing in pediatric oncology patients demonstrates 100% technical success and diagnostic yield across 10 procedures in 8 patients. The minimally invasive technique enabled accurate localization of peripheral lung lesions, with biopsy results leading to treatment changes in 7 of 8 patients and no complications or conversions to open surgery.
