OESOPHAGEAL ATRESIA WITH VERY LOW BIRTH WEIGHT: CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND LONG-TERM OUTCOME

Retrospective study of 327 esophageal atresia patients (1980-2020) found that very low birth weight infants (≤1500g, 10% of cohort) had significantly higher one-month mortality (35% vs 4%) and increased incidence of congenital heart disease and chromosomal abnormalities compared to higher birth weight patients.
