Mortality prediction in pediatric trauma

Comparative study of mortality prediction tools in 45,377 pediatric trauma patients found the BIG score (Base Deficit, INR, Glasgow Coma Scale) demonstrated high accuracy (AUC 0.94) comparable to established PICU scoring systems, though it could only be calculated for a small subset of patients due to data availability limitations.
