Results of mass screening for neuroblastoma in 18-month-old infants in Osaka area, Japan

This retrospective study evaluated mass screening for neuroblastoma in 18-month-old infants in Osaka, Japan (2004-2017). Among 142,423 screened children, 14 were diagnosed with neuroblastoma, but 12 were very low risk cases, suggesting the program did not efficiently identify high-risk patients and may contribute to overdiagnosis.
