EFFECTIVENESS OF TABLE SALT VERSUS COPPER SULPHATE IN TREATING UMBILICAL GRANULOMA: A PILOT RANDOMISED CONTROLLED TRIAL

Multi-center RCT comparing table salt (NaCl) versus copper sulphate for umbilical granuloma treatment in 64 infants shows NaCl achieved significantly higher complete resolution (90.4% vs 69.7%, p=0.040) with zero complications versus 9% superficial burns with copper sulphate. Findings support table salt as safer, effective first-line therapy.
