The American Academy of Pediatrics Firearm Safety Infographic Improves Firearm Safety Guidance: A Qualitative Study

Qualitative study of 44 Houston pediatricians found the AAP firearm safety infographic improved delivery of firearm safety guidance during well-child visits, with parents generally receptive to the counseling. The free tool helped providers broach a sensitive topic and deliver evidence-based storage recommendations to prevent the 8,000 annual pediatric firearm injuries.
