The feasibility and safety of same-day surgery for diaphragmatic eventration by minithoracotomy in children

Comparative study of 22 pediatric patients demonstrates minithoracotomy for diaphragmatic eventration repair offers significant advantages over thoracoscopy: shorter operative time (31 vs 72 minutes), reduced blood loss, and same-day discharge versus 6-day hospital stay. The minithoracotomy approach showed no recurrence at 6-month follow-up with faster recovery and simpler surgical technique.
