Influence of body mass index at diagnosis on outcome of thyroid cancer in children and adolescents

Retrospective study of 181 pediatric thyroid cancer patients found no association between elevated BMI and disease severity at diagnosis or treatment outcomes. Children and adolescents with overweight/obesity had similar tumor staging, metastatic burden, and response to therapy compared to normal-weight patients after thyroidectomy and radioiodine treatment.
