Role of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Management of Penetrating Abdominal Trauma in Children

Prospective study of 117 hemodynamically stable pediatric patients with penetrating abdominal trauma demonstrates that minimally invasive surgery achieves 100% diagnostic accuracy with zero missed injuries. Laparoscopy was therapeutic in 67% of cases, with 87% completed without conversion to open surgery and low complication rates.
