The herbal medicines Inchinkoto and Saireito improved hepatic fibrosis via aquaporin 9 in the liver of a rat bile duct ligation model

Rat model study demonstrates that Japanese herbal medicines Inchinkoto and Saireito reduce liver fibrosis in obstructive cholestasis by upregulating aquaporin 9 and suppressing NF-κB inflammatory pathways. Combined therapy showed synergistic benefits in reducing fibrosis markers and hepatocellular injury following bile duct ligation.
