Rectal Biopsy Technique for the Diagnosis of Hirschsprung Disease in Children: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

This systematic review and meta-analysis compared four rectal biopsy techniques for diagnosing Hirschsprung disease in children. Suction, punch, and open biopsies showed comparable diagnostic accuracy (88-95%), but suction biopsy had significantly lower complication rates (0.039%) compared to punch (2%) and open (2%) techniques.
