Native nephrectomy in the management of hypertension in children with kidney disease: a tool to improve blood pressure control

This retrospective study of 19 pediatric patients demonstrates that native nephrectomy (unilateral or bilateral) achieved complete blood pressure resolution in 79% and partial resolution in 16% of children with complex renal hypertension. Laparoscopic nephrectomy offers an effective surgical option for managing medication-resistant hypertension in children with kidney disease.
