Correlation between Common Channel Length and Urethral Length in Cloacal Malformations
Topic overview
This prospective study of 30 cloacal malformation patients compared MRI and cystovaginoscopy for measuring common channel and urethral length. While both modalities showed equivalent accuracy for common channel measurement, MRI revealed only moderate negative correlation between common channel and urethral length, indicating common channel length cannot reliably predict urethral length in surgical planning.
