Spatial-Temporal Clusters of Pediatric Perforated Appendicitis in California

Spatial-temporal analysis of California pediatric perforated appendicitis cases (2005-2015) identified 11 persistent geographic hot spots, with rural micropolitan counties showing 14-fold higher odds of clustering. Poverty emerged as a significant predictor, highlighting the intersection of geography and socioeconomic factors in this important child health disparity.
