A pediatric colorectal and pelvic reconstruction course improves content exposure for pediatric surgery fellows: a three-year consecutive study

Three-year study demonstrates that a multimodal colorectal course significantly improves pediatric surgery fellows' confidence in managing complex cases like Hirschsprung disease, anorectal malformations, and cloacal reconstructions. Fellows reported limited exposure to these procedures during training but showed marked improvement in comfort levels after completing the course combining didactics, case discussions, and hands-on laboratory experience.
