Administration of extracellular vesicles derived from human amniotic fluid stem cells: a new treatment for necrotizing enterocolitis

This preclinical study demonstrates that extracellular vesicles derived from human amniotic fluid stem cells reduce intestinal injury and inflammation in a murine NEC model while enhancing stem cell expression and proliferation. The cell-free approach offers a potentially translatable alternative to direct stem cell administration for treating this devastating neonatal condition.
