Comparison of intra- and extra-corporeal laparoscopic hernia repair in children: A systematic review and pooled data-analysis

This systematic review of 3,680 pediatric patients compares laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair techniques. Single-port extra-corporeal closure demonstrated significantly lower recurrence rates (0.6% vs 5.5%) and shorter operative times compared to intra-corporeal purse-string suturing, with no difference in complication rates.
