UK-wide cohort study tracking 239 children with Hirschsprung's disease to age 5-8 years reveals significant ongoing morbidity: 63% experience fecal incontinence, 44% require unplanned reoperations, and nearly half score ≥1 SD below population norms for quality of life and psychological well-being.
