Changes in Pediatric Trauma during COVID-19 Stay-at-home Epoch at a Tertiary Pediatric Hospital

Retrospective analysis of pediatric trauma patterns during COVID-19 stay-at-home orders shows 16% decrease in overall trauma encounters, with significant reductions in motor vehicle crashes, falls, and sports injuries. However, burn admissions and penetrating trauma increased proportionally, with demographic shifts toward white and privately insured patients.
