An overview of opioid usage and regional anesthesia for patients undergoing repair of anorectal malformation

Retrospective study of 105 pediatric patients undergoing anorectal malformation repair found that regional anesthesia significantly reduces opioid requirements when laparotomy is performed, but offers minimal benefit in younger patients (<5 years) without laparotomy, where opioid needs are already low.
