Eosinophilic colitis in children: a new and elusive enemy?

Retrospective study of 50 pediatric eosinophilic colitis cases reveals non-specific presentations (abdominal pain, diarrhea) with notably high prevalence in children with autism spectrum disorder (44% vs 28.5%). Histological eosinophilia persisted in 75% of patients despite symptom improvement, highlighting diagnostic challenges and need for standardized treatment protocols.
