Risk factors of dumping syndrome after fundoplication for gastroesophageal reflux in children

This retrospective study of 190 pediatric fundoplication patients identified three significant risk factors for postoperative dumping syndrome: surgery before 12 months of age, severe scoliosis, and microgastria. The 9% incidence rate and identified risk factors provide important preoperative counseling points for families considering anti-reflux surgery.
