A noninvasive index to predict liver cirrhosis in biliary atresia

Retrospective study of 35 children with biliary atresia demonstrates that a combined noninvasive index incorporating patient age, APRI score, and MRI-measured left liver lobe volume accurately predicts cirrhosis with 91% accuracy and 0.94 AUC. This composite marker outperforms individual parameters and offers a radiation-free alternative to liver biopsy for monitoring disease progression.
