Complications and trends in minimally invasive repair of pectus excavatum: A large volume, single institution experience

Large single-institution review of 600 MIRPE cases shows 18% complication rate, with significant improvement after 2013 (15.3% vs 28.2%) as surgeons progressed through learning curve. Bar displacement remains the primary unresolved challenge despite technical modifications, while severe complications including bleeding and lung injury can occur during bar removal.
