Porcine dermal patches as a risk factor for recurrence after congenital diaphragmatic hernia repair

Retrospective study of 50 CDH patients identifies porcine dermis patches as a significant risk factor for hernia recurrence (75% vs 4% with Gore-Tex, 0% with primary closure). Authors recommend against using porcine patches for diaphragmatic repair based on 3.5-year follow-up data.
