INTRASPHINCTERIC BOTULINUM TOXIN INJECTIONS FOR POST-OPERATIVE OBSTRUCTIVE DEFECATION PROBLEMS IN HIRSCHSPRUNG DISEASE: A RETROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY

Retrospective study of 131 Hirschsprung patients shows botulinum toxin injections effectively treat postoperative obstructive defecation in 61% after first injection, with 71% achieving spontaneous defecation or laxative-only management. Treatment was well-tolerated with mild adverse effects in 29% of patients.
