Epithelial cell-adhesion protein cadherin 26 is dysregulated in congenital diaphragmatic hernia and congenital pulmonary airway malformation

This study investigates cadherin 26 (CDH26) expression in congenital diaphragmatic hernia and congenital pulmonary airway malformation, finding overexpression in CPAM cystic lesions and potential downregulation in CDH hypoplastic lungs. The findings suggest CDH26 pathway disruption may contribute to abnormal lung development in both conditions.
