Long-term functional outcome of sacrococcygeal teratoma after resection in neonates and infants: a single-center experience

Single-center retrospective study of 29 patients with sacrococcygeal teratoma found 20.7% developed long-term functional disorders (anorectal, urologic, or motor) after neonatal resection. Risk factors included larger tumors requiring abdominosacral approach, surgical injury to pelvic organs, and immature/malignant histology, with one mortality from complications at 13 years.
