Effect of Feeding Strategies on the Development of Fulminant Necrotizing Enterocolitis

This retrospective study of 80 premature neonates identifies reaching full-volume enteral feeds as a major risk factor for fulminant necrotizing enterocolitis (F-NEC), with a 67-fold increased odds compared to standard NEC. The findings suggest that modified feeding protocols might reduce F-NEC risk in vulnerable preterm populations.
