Ethical Publication Standards in Articles Reporting on Novel Surgical Methods: Analysis of Three Pediatric Surgical Journals

Systematic review of 105 articles describing novel pediatric surgical methods found that only 52% documented ethical approval and 21% documented informed consent, representing improvement from 2010 but still falling short of Helsinki Declaration standards. The study highlights persistent gaps in ethical documentation when implementing new surgical techniques in children.
