Postoperative outcomes in vedolizumab-treated pediatric patients undergoing abdominal operations for inflammatory bowel disease

Retrospective study comparing 30-day postoperative infectious complications in pediatric IBD patients treated with vedolizumab versus anti-TNF therapy within 12 weeks of major abdominal surgery. Analysis of 13 vedolizumab-treated and 36 anti-TNF-treated patients showed no demographic differences except higher prior biologic exposure in the vedolizumab group.
