To operate or not to operate? Assessing NSQIP surgical outcomes in trisomy 18 patients

This NSQIP database study of 310 trisomy 18 patients demonstrates that noncardiac surgical interventions achieve favorable outcomes, with 90% 30-day survival and 74% discharge to home. Findings challenge historical palliative-only approaches, showing patients over one year experience similar outcomes to those without trisomy 18.
