Excellent prognosis of patients with intermediate-risk neuroblastoma and residual tumor postchemotherapy
Topic overview
Retrospective study of 25 intermediate-risk neuroblastoma patients demonstrates excellent long-term survival regardless of residual tumor resection after chemotherapy. Pathologic analysis showed chemotherapy induced tumor regression or maturation in most cases, suggesting residual tumor resection may be unnecessary in this patient population.
