Experience of diagnosis and treatment of traumatic bronchial rupture in children in a single clinical center
Topic overview
This retrospective study of 8 pediatric patients with traumatic bronchial rupture demonstrates that CT with 3D reconstruction and fiberoptic bronchoscopy enable accurate diagnosis, though 6 cases had delayed diagnosis beyond 2 weeks. All patients underwent successful surgical repair with bronchial anastomosis techniques, achieving 100% survival with mild to moderate bronchostenosis on follow-up.
