Population-Based Analysis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Children: Identifying Optimal Surgical Treatment

This SEER database study of 127 pediatric HCC patients (2004-2015) demonstrates that liver transplantation achieves superior 5-year cancer-specific survival compared to liver resection (87% vs 63%), particularly for advanced-stage disease. The findings support early transplant consultation for children with unresectable or advanced-stage HCC.
