Outcomes of preoperative anal dilatation for Hirschsprung disease

Retrospective study of 95 children with Hirschsprung disease found that preoperative anal dilatation significantly reduced operative time for laparoscopic Soave pull-through (especially in short and typical-segment disease) but did not decrease rates of HAEC or postoperative obstructive symptoms compared to no preoperative dilatation.
