Clinical outcomes after tracheoplasty in patients with congenital tracheal stenosis in 1997–2014

Published: Reading: 1 min

Topic overview

Retrospective study of 81 congenital tracheal stenosis patients undergoing tracheoplasty (1997-2014) identified key predictors of outcomes. Older age and higher weight at surgery improved 12-month survival, while heavier weight, preoperative balloon dilatation, and absence of carina involvement predicted successful extubation within 2 months.
