A clinical review of ovarian tumors in children and adolescents

Retrospective study of 35 pediatric ovarian tumor cases found that preoperative imaging and tumor markers achieved 83% diagnostic accuracy, while 40% presented with torsion. Intermittent abdominal pain predicted torsion, and elevated white blood cell count indicated irreversible ovarian ischemia requiring oophorectomy rather than preservation.
