Study of 3,386 pediatric patients demonstrates that adding iliopubic tract repair to standard high ligation in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair eliminates recurrence risk (0% vs 0.35%). The enhanced technique reinforces the repair without increasing complications, with recurrences in the standard group occurring primarily in infants within the first postoperative year.
