Am I out of control? The application of statistical process control charts to children's surgery

This study demonstrates how statistical process control charts can monitor surgical outcomes in pediatric surgery, using esophageal atresia repair and Crohn's disease intestinal resection as examples. The method provides early detection of performance deterioration before traditional statistical testing would identify problems, making it particularly valuable in low-volume specialties like children's surgery.
