Clinical urologic and urodynamic outcomes in patients with anorectal malformation and absent vagina after vaginal replacement

This retrospective study of 15 patients with rectovestibular fistula and absent vagina found 77% achieved urinary continence, though 40% required clean intermittent catheterization—higher than typical ARM populations. Urodynamic abnormalities were common when assessed, and 85% maintained normal renal function, supporting routine urologic screening in this ARM subtype.
